The situation with the recommended daily dose is a bit more complicated. Of course, most tests have been performed on animals and it is virtually impossible to translate the dose for example from mice to humans. As for clinical trials, they rather look at the safety of glucan, i.e. they test massive doses, or monitor the effects of glucan together with another bio-active substance, which does not tell us much about the doses of glucan itself. However, most experts have agreed on the recommended dose of about 100 to 200mg for a healthy adult and about 500mg for an ill adult.
